FAQ

  • WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WRITING?
My imagination drives me and the other side of me wants to help people especially young people with life choices. I like to encourage others to want to do be better. Much of my writing is also inspired by my interest in Native American history and African American history. Being a descendant of two Native American tribes and knowing a lot of my documented maternal side. I was always disappointed with how American history was presented to me. The strong connections between the African American and Native American communities are rarely mentioned. Especially when it comes to Native Americans that remained in the south after traumatic events like the Trail of Tears.
  • WHEN DID YOU FIRST REALIZE YOU WANTED TO BE AN AUTHOR?
I never planned on being an author. I actually enjoy creating stories that may mirror someone's life experiences or their own family. I like to fill in the missing gaps some families will never be able to retrieve. I enjoy making people think; all choices results in consequences.
  • WHAT IS A COMMON THEME WE MAY SEE IN SOME OF YOUR STORIES?
One of the common themes is the picture is bigger than you. Your belief doesn't override the truth, and though it's important to understand there's always more than one perspective. There is only one truth. Our life is a literal book series, and in that series we will make mistakes and some are major mistakes. We have to be careful not to get stuck on a paragraph. Even great people can fall victim to people that wrong us, or a narcissist or two. We have to push forward not stuck on "I thought." As the saying goes "If you ever want to make God laugh tell God your plans."
  • HOW DID YOU LEARN SO MUCH ABOUT WRITING?
A lot of research, a lot of hours, and I'm heavily self taught. I learned a lot by watching successful experienced authors, and learning from my editor.
  • WHAT DEGREES DO YOU HAVE?
I have a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Zoology.
  • ARE YOUR STORIES ONLY ABOUT HISTORICAL FICTION?
No, my stories won't be only in that category. I will have another series coming out soon that isn't historical fiction.
